Why Do We Have Athletes at No Limits Grappling Academy?

If you pay attention to any of the things that we post online, you will see that you have a pretty unique way of referring to the community of people that make up our gym, a community that will grow and affectionately be known as “The No Limits Nation”. You see, unlike other martial arts gyms, we don’t have members, or students, or clients.

We have Athletes.

Why is that?

Its because grappling offers a very unique opportunity. You see, it doesn’t matter if you were a state placer in wrestling, or an all state football player that wants to jump back in and reclaim some of that old competitive magic or if you have never played a sport a day in your life, grappling allows you the opportunity to either rediscover or unearth the athletic potential that has been inside you all along.

Jiu-jitsu, Wrestling, and Judo ( what we collectively call grappling) each have a wide array of techniques, that work for every different body type, skill, and flexibility level and over time each athlete gets to find what techniques work the best for them and fit the best for their own individual attributes. They are also sports that are heavily conceptually based so that when you understand the basic principles of positions and techniques you can start to apply them in many different situations.

This helps every athlete build a “game” (way of training/competing) that is unique to them and allows the ability for them to get creative/ think outside the box and start implementing their techniques from unorthodox or difficult situations.

Once you start to get a feeling for how your body can move in these new and unique ways, a funny thing starts to happen, all of a sudden, you want to clean up your diet, you want to get serious with a strength and conditioning program and you get the itch to start testing yourself against other people in a competition

In short, you go from wanting to feel like an athlete again (or for the first time) to ACTUALLY feeling like one!
