What Will You Learn at No Limits Grappling Academy?

“Sometimes you have to lose to learn how to Win”-Aerosmith, Dream on.

You’re on the site.

You’ve read my bio.

You’ve seen my videos on social media, if you haven’t here’s the rundown.

Cerebral palsy can’t walk.

1 competitive win in almost two decades

I know what you’re thinking “How can he possibly teach me how to be good at grappling?”

Listen, it’s a fair question.

Other instructor’s belts in the area are darker, they have bigger affiliations, more students, more trophies more medals, more wins.. more everything. Well, except one thing.

Nobody has more to prove than me.

For an ultra-competitive person such as myself, losing 80 matches for 10 years straight was one of the most difficult things that I have ever had to endure. It also taught me two valuable lessons.

First, that one day when I had a gym of my own, that my athletes would never have to go through all of the tough times that I did (there will definitely be some, just not all) and second, that when those tough times did occur, I would have a way to help them regulate and deal with the emotions that they are feeling so that they don’t beat themselves up in the same manner when I spent all that time losing..

So, I studied winning.

Not just the best competitors, or what techniques were most effective, and how they perform them, but how do they practice? What are their habits? How do they communicate? what are the little things that separates them from everybody else?

But I learned early on that the physical component wasn’t enough.

There have been plenty of physically gifted, “Naturally talented” individuals that I have trained with over the years who, by every stretch of the imagination, should have had long and fruitful careers in the combat sports, but as they progressed and adversity hit, they hit the door and never stepped foot back on a mat.

So, I studied psychology.

I earned a master’s in educational counseling psychology with a emphasis in coaching from the University of Missouri in 2017 and became certified as a Mental Performance Mastery coach under Renowned Mental Performance Coach Brian Cain who has worked with a myriad high level fighters chief among them Georges St. Pierre, Vitor Belfort, and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone

I wanted to know how these incredible athletes were able to not only perform, but to perform consistently at the highest level of their sport when the pressure was on them the most.

The combination of these two vital areas; the physical and mental, helps us to not only build complete athletes for competitive success, it helps us to take a holistic approach to building a complete and well rounded PERSON that is fully equipped to not only expect and accept the daily challenges that life throws at them but to EMBRACE that adversity and to use it to grow

If you are looking to you are looking to be a part of a competitive, fun, challenging environment, that will enhance your athletic success as well as your physical and mental wellbeing book your intro and we will get back to you right away!
